Moving the Well Equipment

I had hoped to get the well equipment moved before starting construction, but couldn’t get someone to help build the shed until this week.  The well equipment was housed in the area where the workshop is now located.  Last month, I unhooked everything and switched the landscape irrigation back to city water.  We got our water bill last week and now I’m motivated to get the well back online.  The other motivation is the 55 gallon drum of sulfuric acid sitting on a wall about 8 feet from the fuselage.  The acid is used to lower the pH of the water with an injector hooked up to the well (the pH of the water without the acid is 8.9 – massively high).  I poured the pad for the equipment earlier this week and finally got around to moving the acid, pressure tank, and other equipment into the new well house.  I can breathe a little easier now that there’s less chance of a “chemical event” occurring in the workshop.

As a bonus, the shed area provides shade outside the workshop, so the temperature isn’t as hot in the morning when we get started.  The morning sun used to shine in through the east facing windows and heat things up rather quickly.  Now, the roof provides good shade from about 8am on.
